Roy McManus from Belfast has recently developed a new whistle head that fits directly into the liner on the barrel of our Bb flute. I have had a chance to play with it and it's really amazing, makes the flute sound like a whistle but giving you the added benefit of having keys so you don't have all that awkard cross fingering especially if your not used to playing a whistle.
Check out the video link below as Stuart Boyd takes a closer look at the new head

In total we raised about £700 from the raffle of the Crown flute.
The money is going to Hope Builders charity who builds the schools in Uganda for Fields of Life and also does some work for New Beginnings.
We had planned to give the money to Fields of Life & New Beginnings but since Hope Builders is going to be doing work for both organisations in the New Year we felt that it would be just as beneficial to give it to them.
David Charleton the founder of Hope Builders is a local man from Ballymartin near Kilkeel. Each year he takes a team of dedicated workmen and ladies to Uganda where they build a school for Fields of Life.
In January 2012 the team will be travelling to Nakasongola in Uganda to work for both organisations
